
Jennifer was always hoping to become a multitasking superstar. When she was a kid she was fascinated by a wide range of genres in music, including Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa, merengue and bachata. She also enjoyed popular music such as pop, hip-hop, and R&B. Even though she loved film, it was the industry of music that attracted her. West Side Story (1961) was the Rita Moreno musical that inspired her the most, was also her greatest influence. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer, as well as a Catholic girl, was a student for eight years of Holy Family Catholic elementary school in The Bronx. After completing her four years of school in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. When she was at school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete, and played tennis and track. At Castle Hill, she spent her early years in a two-story house. Jennifer moved from her home to live with her parents around the age of 18. Lopez began working at the law office, while also dancing in the evenings.
